Middlesbrough have denied holding talks with Saudi Arabian striker Yasser Al-Qahtani.

Saudi Arabian will not be linking up with Southgate's side

Middlesbrough have denied holding talks with Saudi Arabian striker Yasser Al-Qahtani. Reports emanating from the Middle East this week suggested that Boro were seriously considering a move for Al-Qahtani to strengthen Gareth Southgate's attacking options. The reports also claimed that Boro's Egyptian star Mido was trying to convince Boro to seal a move for the Al-Hilal striker. Al-Qahtani, who has scored 44 goals in 54 appearances at international level, is known to be keen on a move to Europe. However, it appears as though Boro are not in talks to bring Al-Qahtani to The Riverside, with the club's official website confirming the reports were 'wide of the mark'. Middlesbrough have been linked with a number of other strikers, including James Beattie, Shola Ameobi and David Nugent.
