Caretaker happy to fill in, Mandaric reveals Royle liking
Leicester City caretaker manager Frank Burrows insists he is more than happy to fill in as boss until chairman Milan Mandaric finds a successor for Gary Megson.
Burrows became the fifth man to take charge of the Foxes in six turbulent months under Mandaric after Megson's protracted departure to Premier League strugglers Bolton was concluded on Thursday.
The Scottish coach led Leicester to a 2-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday, and Burrows has explained that he will manage the side for as long as Mandaric requires.
Fabulous
"What's not to like about being manager of Leicester City?" he said.
"We've got a fabulous stadium and facilities and we are determined to get back into the Premier League and that is what we had to concentrate on this week.
"We knew it wouldn't be easy to beat Barnsley and it was a messy preparation for the game so I was delighted to win.
"I'm under contract here and I've told the chairman that I'll run the football team until he tells me different.
"Gary said they were happy with the staff at Bolton and he won't be taking me with him. I've told the chairman that I won't go anywhere as long as he wants me.
"I just want to stop the talk about Gary Megson and Bolton. This is Leicester City. The ongoing speculation won't affect me at all as it's not my decision.
"It's the chairman's decision and it is a big decision. He will get it right and if it takes a week or a month the important thing is he gets the right man."
Royle interest
Meanwhile, Mandaric has revealed his interest in Joe Royle, who he believes might well have the credentials to take over at the Walkers Stadium.
"Everything I hear about him is good both as a manager and a man and that commands respect. I've been told he'd fit my style," he told the News of the World.
