Key defender starts for Red Devils

Nemanja Vidic will start Manchester United's UEFA Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday.

The Serbia international defender had been a doubt to feature after only just returning to training following a facial injury he sustained against Wigan earlier this month.

However, Vidic's fitness has been confirmed ahead of the trip to Ukraine, meaning Wes Brown should revert to right-back with Gerard Pique likely dropping to the bench.

Earlier United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had been hopeful of Vidic's availability, although he was not too optimistic that he would recover in time.

With United commanding a 100 per cent record in Group F from their opening fixtures they can all but secure a place in the knock-out stages with success in Kiev.
