Milan boss patient over striker's return

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed the club will not rush Ronaldo as the striker continues his recovery programme. The Brazilian has not played this season due to an ongoing muscular problem in his leg, an injury he originally suffered on July 31. It had been hoped the forward could play some part in Sunday's match against Empoli but Ancelotti does not want to hurry the player back in to action prematurely.

Evaluate

He said: "Ronaldo is working positively but it is not necessary to hurry. We will evaluate the situation together. "When he starts to train with his team-mates and does some ball work, that would mean he is feeling okay." Ronaldo will undergo a new scan in the next few days to assess the condition of the damaged muscle.
