Defender to miss trip to Old Trafford

Marco Cassetti will miss Roma's UEFA Champions League trip to Manchester United after being ruled out for a month. The full-back suffered a thigh injury in his side's 2-2 draw with Juventus in Serie A on Sunday. Cassetti was forced out of the game in the first half, although it was initially hoped it was not a serious problem. However, scans have shown that the defender will require four weeks on the sidelines in order to recover from the injury. It means Cassetti will sit out next week's game at Old Trafford, having featured in both legs of last season's quarter-final tussle between the two clubs. Though he is out of the United encounter, Roma hope Cassetti will be back for the 23rd October group game with Sporting Lisbon. But while Cassetti will miss out against United, Christian Panucci could play after recovering from the thigh strain which forced him to miss last week's 2-0 win over Dynamo Kiev.
