L'OM relief at Nasri news

Marseille playmaker Samir Nasri's injury is not as serious as first thought.

Marseille have received a huge boost with the news that Samir Nasri's injury is not as serious as first thought.

Nasri injured his ankle in a friendly against Bordeaux last weekend and it was feared the young playmaker could have suffered a fracture or damaged ligaments.

However, an MRI scan has revealed only a severe ankle sprain which will keep Nasri out for around one month.

"Indeed, we can be relieved. For him and for us, it is nice," Marseille coach Albert Emon told French press.

"We feared the worst as the first medical examinations were pessimistic.

"The most important thing is not to know when he will be back. The best news is we know it's not too serious."

Meanwhile, Cyprus Under 21 international Michalis Sifakis has been offered a trial with Marseille.

The OFI Crete player has linked up with l'OM in Capbreton hoping to earn a deal at the Stade Velodrome.
