Luton defender Sol Davis has accused Bjorn Runstrom of being 'spineless' and a 'maggot'.
Luton defender Sol Davis has accused Bjorn Runstrom of being 'spineless' and a 'maggot of a man' following a surprising outburst from Fulham's on loan striker.
The Swedish 22-year-old has not enjoyed the best of sojourns in the Championship so far and has been candid in his comments about Luton's capabilities.
Runstrom reportedly branded the club's coaching staff 'clowns' before describing fellow front-man Warren Feeney as being 'harmless' to defenders.
Such a looseness of tongue has not endeared him to Davis and now the left-back has launched a vitriolic attack of his own.
"Runstrom is a maggot of a man," fumed Davis, in The Sun. "He's not fit to lace Warren Feeney's boots.
"It sums Runstrom up as an individual and as a player that he had to do it through the press and that he didn't say anything to the management or the staff when he was here.
"He is a gutless individual and he didn't help the club one bit.
"We're in a massive relegation battle and he is not the sort of player you need to dig in and help you out.
"It was really unprofessional to attack Warren as he has done.
"Warren will brush it off, it won't affect him one bit because he knows what Bjorn is all about - he is a coward on and off the pitch."
