Queens Park Rangers defender Matthew Rose has had his contract terminated.
Queens Park Rangers defender Matthew Rose has had his contract terminated with immediate effect. The 31-year-old defender clocked up 237 appearances during his Loftus Road career, having signed from Arsenal in 1997, but will now seek pastures new in a bid for first team football.
Rose has fallen down manager John Gregory's pecking order and having not featured since October, it has been decided that a parting of ways is best for both parties.
Gregory was quick to wish the player well, thanking him for sterling service at the Championship club.
"I'd like to place on record my thanks for his contribution to the football club over the years," said Gregory.
"Everyone here wishes him great success for the future."
Another defender to join Rose out the Loftus Road exit door is teenager Jonathan Munday after he had his contract terminated by the West Londoners.
