Hunt hopes to visit Cech

Stephen Hunt is keen to meet Petr Cech as the keeper recovers from injury

Stephen Hunt is keen to meet Petr Cech as the Chelsea keeper continues his recovery from a fractured skull.

The Reading midfielder, who was involved in the collision which saw the Czech international stretchered off, is waiting to hear back from Cech's family after writing to wish him well.

"I wrote to Petr Cech and hopefully he will make a speedy recovery," he told The Sun.

"I haven't heard anything back from Chelsea or from Petr's family but I'd like to see him whenever he's on the right road to recovery."

Hunt has been accused by Blues boss Jose Mourinho of deliberately injuring Cech.

But the Irishman says he has tried to let the verbal sparring wash over him.

"All that mattered to me was Petr Cech - that he was OK was always the main thing. I wasn't too concerned what people were saying about me."

Cech's wife Martina has revealed that her husband is slowly recovering from his injury.

"His health improves from day to day. He can do a few steps but he should not overdo it," she told Czech newspaper MF Dnes.

She also revealed her husband watched his Chelsea team-mates in their UEFA Champions League win over Barcelona.

"He saw the goal and the two saves by Hilario (Cech's replacement in the Chelsea goal) so he was satisfied. He lived it, cheered his team," she said.
