Latics land Palace striker
Oldham Athletic have finally had some luck in the transfer market.
Oldham Athletic have finally had some luck in the transfer market having completed the loan capture of Lewis Grabban.Latics boss John Sheridan has been continually thwarted in his attempts to land a striker, with several Championship forwards having elected against a move to Boundary Park.
He has, though, finally landed his man after agreeing to take Crystal Palace starlet Grabban for a month, with the 18-year-old eligible to make his debut at the weekend against Millwall.
Grabban is highly regarded at Selhurst Park and will now look to garner first team experience in League One, with Sheridan excited at the prospect of unleashing the youngster.
"Lewis is a young striker with bags of potential,'' Sheridan told the club's official website.
"We hope he can do for us what Jermain Defoe did for Bournemouth a few years ago."
Meanwhile, Spanish trialist Diego Cervero continues to impress but the club have yet to give any indication of whether they will offer him a permanent stay.
