Moretti agrees Che deal
Emiliano Moretti has agreed a new contract until 2011 with Valencia.
Emiliano Moretti has ended the debate surrounding his future by agreeing a new contract with Valencia.
The Italian defender had spent several weeks in negotiations with the Spanish club, but has reached a deal to stay until 2011.
He is delighted to prolong his time with the Che and is already looking forward to the new season.
"Now, I live very well in Spain and this season I am very happy with the option to play in the Champions League," said Moretti.
Moretti's previous deal was due to run until 2009, but the two-year top-up ensures he will remain a key figure in the Valencia back-line.
The stopper's agent Federico Pastorello outlined the difficulty in brokering the deal, but confirmed Moretti merely needs to sign the new contract.
Pastorello said: "Everything is closed and I wait for the signature which should become a reality this week.
"This subject was not easy, but finally Valencia have valued the real category of the player and we are all happy."
