Senna wants Villarreal stay
Marcos Senna has expressed a desire to sign a new contract at Villarreal.
Marcos Senna has expressed a desire to sign a new contract at Villarreal, but is flattered to be linked to Manchester United.
Reports have suggested that Sir Alex Ferguson is an admirer of the midfielder, having coming up against Villarreal in last season's UEFA Champions League.
Brazilian-born Senna, who has just represented Spain at the World Cup, is honoured to be a target for the Premiership giants.
But he is unaware of whether The Red Devils have made a bid, with Villarreal keen to retain the services of the holding midfielder.
Senna is equally happy to stay with the Yellow Submarines and is willing to extend his contract, which currently expires in 12 months' time.
"Nobody from Manchester United has spoken with me, I only know the rumours," Senna told El Periodico Mediterraneo.
"It is praise that a club like this can be interested in me, but if someone wants something that has to be directed to Villarreal.
"With me there is little to speak of.
"I feel very happy in Villarreal with the club and I want to continue.
"My representative is negotiating the subject and I would like to continue for four more years."
