Michael Ballack's agent has confirmed that the German is in advanced talks with Chelsea.
According to his agent, Germany captain Michael Ballack is in advanced negotiations with Chelsea about a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Ballack's agent Michael Becker has reacted to criticism from Bayern Munich commercial manager Uli Hoeness who claimed that Ballack was financially motivated.
"It was always clear that Michael was not interested in learning a new language or a new culture but rather a new currency," Hoeness told Kicker newspaper on Monday, mocking Ballack's claims that he wanted to learn a new language.
Becker believes that Bayern have treated his client unfairly in their contract talks.
"This comment is without foundation," he told Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, referring to Hoeness' remark.
"Money is not the issue in the price category that Michael is in. He will be making a decision based on sporting considerations. We are in serious negotiations with Chelsea in London."
Ballack's contract at Bayern expires at the end of the season, and the 29-year-old has reportedly rejected an offer of é¼36 million to sign a new deal with the German champions.
