Paul Robinson has earned glowing praise from his predecessor David Seaman.

England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has earned glowing praise from his international predecessor David Seaman.

Barring injury Robinson is virtually assured of his place in goal for England's World Cup bid and with justifiable cause in the belief of the former Arsenal keeper.

The Tottenham player has been in excellent form for club and country this season but Seaman insists there is still more to come from the no-nonsense Robinson.

"Paul Robinson has not even reached his peak yet. I like Paul. I like the way he goes about his job. He's not flash, he just gets on with it," said Seaman.

As the countdown to Germany 2006 begins in earnest Seaman has also offered his opinion on England's chances of going all the way this summer.

"In previous World Cups our experienced players were coming towards the end of their careers. That's not the case this time," added Seaman.

"Michael Owen should be fine and the weather, which was very hot for the last World Cup, should suit everyone much better this time."
