Friedrich gets German call
Jurgen Klinsmann has called-up uncapped FSV Mainz defender Manuel Friedrich.
Jurgen Klinsmann has given a call-up to uncapped FSV Mainz defender Manuel Friedrich for Germany's World Cup warm-up match with the United States.The 26-year-old was one of two surprise inclusions in the 23-man squad as the Germans attempt to bounce back from the humiliating 4-1 defeat to Italy last month.
Also included is Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sebastian Kehl, although it is thought that he has been included as a gesture to the Dortmund fans after Klinsmann said that Christian Worns would not be involved in June's tournament.
Kehl already has 24 caps but it is the first time he has been included with Klinsmann in charge.
