Hatters sign a Diamond

Luton Town have completed the signing of David Bell from Rushden & Diamonds.

The 21-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with The Hatters after both clubs concurred on a fee of £100,000 for the player.

The former Republic of Ireland international has come through the ranks at Nene Park, having made 121 appearances for the League Two club.

Bell will now look to fulfil his potential with Mike Newell's side by jumping up two divisions to play for the Bedfordshire club.

One Rushden player who has committed his future to the club is teenage striker Lee Tomlin.

The 17-year-old has penned a professional deal with The Diamonds until the summer of 2008, having made his full senior debut last Saturday at Peterborough United.
