Getafe fined for racist abuse
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have fined Getafe for racist chanting.
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have fined Getafe for the racist chanting some of their fans directed at Barcelona's players last weekend.Barca's 3-1 win at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez was marred by racist chants, aimed mainly at Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o.
It was match referee Arturo Dauden Ibanez who reported the abuse, the second year running that Barca's players were abused at Getafe's stadium.
The maximum fine for such an incident is é¼6.000 (£4,000), but president of the RFEF's Competition Committee, Alfredo Perez, explained that Getafe's attempts to stop the abuse over the stadium's speaker system were taken into account.
Meanwhile, Getafe boss Bernd Schuster has been handed a one-match touchline ban after being sent to the stands by Ibanez in the second half of the game.
