Alaves are still trying to reach an agreement to sign Pape Sarr on a permanent basis. The Senegal international spent the second half of last season on loan at Alaves from Lens and impressed as the club secured a return to La Liga.
Sarr is keen to stay with the Spanish side but is waiting for the two clubs to thrash out an accord.
Alaves want to take the midfielder on loan for the season with a view to a permanent move but Lens are seeking an immediate sale.
The impasse has left Sarr in limbo as Alaves coach Rafa Monfort looks to finalise his squad.
Monfort is aiming to create a squad containing 25 players but is currently top-heavy by four players and that could rise to five if Sarr does join permanently.
The quintet most likely to be shipped out by Monfort are Abel, Juvenal, Gnakpa, Lacen and Pape Thiaw.
