Leon Osman has revealed his delight at securing a new deal with Everton.

The 24-year-old penned a new four-year contract with The Toffees earlier this week, ending uncertainty regarding his future in the process.

The midfielder did begin to doubt whether his future was at Goodison Park and is happy to finally put pen-to-paper.

"I've worked so hard to get myself established in the first team and I was hopeful I would get rewarded," said Osman to Sky Sports News.

"As time ticked away a bit of worry did creep in, but that's all behind me as I've signed the new deal."

Osman tastes European football for the first time next season when Everton play in the UEFA Champions League and he is hoping the experience is not brief.

"It'll be my first experience of Europe and I'm hoping it won't be the last," he added.

"There is a possibility we could draw an English club, but if that's the case then that's the case.

"We know we have to win the qualifier and we're all hoping to do that."
