England kit unveiled

England's new shirt that will be worn against Northern Ireland has been unveiled.

The new England shirt that will be worn by The Three Lions against Northern Ireland on Saturday has been unveiled.

David Beckham and co have a crucial World Cup qualifier against Lawrie Sanchez's men and will mark the game with a new strip.

The Umbro home top also sports a star that commemorates England's World Cup success in 1966.

England and Real Madrid star Michael Owen has praised the new top for its up to date features along with keeping traditional values.

"I think it is fantastic. Of all the shirts this is the most developed with great new detail, but it keeps tradition," said Owen at the launch.

"The star commemorating the 1966 World Cup was a special like of mine and in my career I'd like to add another star to that."

Owen's club colleague Beckham believes it is an honour to wear the England shirt and is happy with how the new design looks.

"For any young player, when you're growing up playing for England is a dream come true and it's an honour to put on the shirt and walk in front of all those people and be proud," Beckham said.

"It's important the team look good and the kit looks very good."
