The ban was imposed on Christmas Eve by Whites boss Kevin Blackwell, who is awaiting the outcome of the probe.
"We have suspended them pending further enquiries," Blackwell told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
"We are conducting our own internal investigation. Until that is concluded and we have met with the players again there is nothing further I can say."
The incident could have a detrimental effect on Oster's prospects of securing a permanent move to Elland Road.
Oster has been on loan with The Whites from Sunderland since early November and was looking to stay in West Yorkshire.
But this matter, coupled with his arrest outside a Durham nightclub a fortnight ago, may not be looked on kindly by Blackwell.
