Keeper wants Espanyol exit
Belgian goalkeeper Erwin Lemmens is determined to quit Espanyol.
Belgian goalkeeper Erwin Lemmens is determined to quit Espanyol during January's transfer window.Lemmens has become frustrated at being forced to play second fiddle to young Cameroon shot-stopper Carlos Kameni this season.
Kameni was signed by the Catalan club over the summer and quickly usurped Lemmens as Miguel Angel Lotina's number one.
The situation has irked Lemmens and the 28-year-old is keen to leave Espanyol when the window reopens in the New Year.
"I want to play," affirmed Lemmens. "I am a professional and not prepared for sitting on the bench."
Lemmens joined Espanyol prior to the 2003/04 season after spending four years with fellow Spanish outfit Racing Santander.
He is contracted to Espanyol until next summer but is hoping to have his wish of January exit granted by Lotina.
