The Rossoneri stopper was forced to miss the European Championship due to an Achilles injury and is trying to push his way back in to the squad.
He was not selected for last month's World Cup qualifiers against Norway and Moldova but he is looking for a recall for October's games.
The Azzurri tackle Slovenia and Belarus within a fortnight and Pancaro wants to be involved in the qualifying double-header.
"I haven't spoken with Marcello Lippi yet but, if it would be useful, I'm absolutely ready to come back with the national team," said Pancaro.
Pancaro's hopes of a call-up have been boosted by an injury to Fabio Cannavaro and fitness concerns over other defenders.
