Juninho in Celtic talks

Middlesbrough legend Juninho looks set to accept a move to Celtic.

Middlesbrough legend Juninho looks set to accept a move to Celtic after he opened talks with the Scottish champions.

Juninho held tentative talks with Celtic while he continued to mull over his future but it now seems that he has accepted his future lies away from The Riverside Stadium.

Talk of a move to Manchester City has been discounted so far, which leaves Celtic as the prime candidates to land the World Cup winner.

Brian Hassall, who looks after the player along with his son Jonathan, is now believed to be in Glasgow - along with the player and his father Osvaldo Giroldo Senior.

Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren has already signalled his intent over Juninho and now many feel the Brazilian has little choice but to accept a move away from his beloved Teesside.

Juninho - undoubtedly the most popular player of the last decade at Boro - is now likely to seal a move to Celtic in the next 48 hours.

Personal terms should not be a problem for Celtic - who are likely to see Juninho as the big name replacement they have been looking for since the departure of Henrik Larsson in the summer.
