Stam targets Scudetto

Jaap Stam has made landing the Serie A title with Milan his number one priority this season.

Milan's new signing Jaap Stam has made landing the Serie A title his number one priority ahead of winning the UEFA Champions League.

The former Lazio and Manchester United defender has been successful wherever he has played football and wants to continue landing silverware at San Siro.

Stam chose the Rossoneri as he believes they are the biggest team in Italy and one of the best club sides around the world.

"Champions League or scudetto? Surely scudetto. In all the leagues I've played in I've won the championship," said Stam.

"I also want to win it here in Italy and I want to win it with Milan. I choose Milan because they are the strongest Italian side, and probably the world's best.

"It is a really fascinating club. I hope with my help the team could improve."

Stam has penned a two-year deal with Milan and has not ruled out the possibility of extending his stay with the famous club.

"For the moment I've signed a two year contract then we will see, it will probably be more," he added. "We will see what happens.

"Who knows what will happen in next two years."
