Agali hits out at Schalke

Hansa Rostock's new signing Victor Agali, who has just completed a free transfer after being released by Schalke, has angrily hit out against his former club.

The Royal Blues spent almost ‚é¼5 million on the talented Nigerian striker back in 2001, but Agali never settled at the Arena AufSchalke and was frustrated about the treatment he received from coach Jupp Heynckes and general manager Rudi Assauer.

"Nobody at Schalke was interested in why I played so badly," Agali fumed.

"It was the same with Emile Mpenza and both of us were criticised in public.  They have destroyed mine and Emile's names.

"The coach told me that I was only sixth-choice striker and, from then on, I knew that I would be in all sorts of problems once I would be at fault (with anything)," he told Bild.

Despite Schalke's goalscoring crisis, the tall forward made only 12 appearances for the club last season and has now decided to return to former club Hansa Rostock in order to get his struggling career back on track.
