Bayern dealt Pizarro blow

Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro will be out of action for a least a month with a head injury.

The 25-year-old former Werder Bremen star suffered a hairline fracture of the skull whilst captaining Peru to a 3-1 Copa America win over Venezuela at the weekend.

Pizarro - who played on with the injury before being sent off shortly before the final whistle - complained of dizziness and headaches during the night after the match, and was examined in hospital the following day.

"He couldn't feel anything down the right side of his face for a short time," Peru's team doctor revealed.

Pizarro is now certain to be missing when Bayern kick off their Bundesliga season at Hamburg on August 7.
