Roma get tough on Emerson

Emerson's move to Juventus has once more stalled - with Roma insisting that they will not accept a bid of less that £12 million for the Brazilian midfielder.

Juventus are believed to have already agreed the terms of Emerson's contract in Turin - but Roma are less than keen to sell off one of their crown jewels.

"Juve did not give us an answer soon enough," explained director of sports Franco Baldini. "Therefore they are not our chosen conduit.

"They can still buy Emerson but they have to accept out conditions.

"If they want the Brazilian they will have to pay us ‚é¼18 million, or ‚é¼14 million and ownership of Manuele Blasi.

"These are our requests and if Juve meet them then we will sell. Otherwise Emerson will not go to Juve."

Emerson is believed to heavily favour a move to Juve - despite interest from two of Europe's big hitters.

"There are two alternative [clubs]," added Baldini. "If Juve won't satisfy our resuests then Emerson can choose between Inter and Real Madrid.

"We have already agreed a fee with these clubs and they are just awaiting the player's agreement.

"If Emerson says no and Juve don't agree to our fee then the player will return for pre-season and we all lose out."
