Nantes set for busy summer

Nantes have confirmed that they will allow young defender Mauro Cetto to go out on loan and that Willy Grondin is likely to leave, while they are rumoured to be interested in Zafer Biryol of Konyaspor.

Argentinian Cetto (pictured) has rarely been called into the starting XI this term and has spent most of his time on the treatment table.

Another player who appears to be leaving is Grondin. The goalkeeper - who is currently second choice - still has one more year on his current deal but has already been told he will not be offered another contract.

While several players may be on their way out, one player who could be coming in the opposite direction is Konyaspor's Zafer Biryol.

The French team have made an enquiry for the top scorer in Super Lig, although the player is insists they are not the only club to show some interest.

"I'm very happy at Konyaspor," explained Zafer. "Besiktas and Galatasaray have shown their interest through my agent as well as Nantes in France.

"I want to play for another year and then evaluate the offers. I'd prefer to play abroad rather than a bigger club in Turkey."

Meanwhile, Nantes will have to do without the services of Jeremy Toulalan for the rest of the season.

The player - who has been in inspirational form for Loic Amisse's side this term - strained a muscle in the back of his thigh and will need several weeks to fully recover.

The news is a blow for the club as they look to push for Uefa Cup qualification in the final few weeks of the campaign.
