REAL MADRID - STAR MAN - ZINEDINE ZIDANE

REAL MADRID possess a host of the world's top stars in their side, but none shine brighter than French maestro Zinedine Zidane.

The 31-year-old is arguably the greatest player on the planet at present and he has twice been voted World Footballer of the Year.

Zidane started his career at Cannes before moving onto Bordeaux where he first really came to the fore, helping them to reach the Uefa Cup final in 1996.

A big money move was soon to follow with Juventus taking him to Italy, where he established himself as the best player in the world.

He won the Italian title in his first season, but the Champions League evaded him as he lost two finals with the Bianconeri in 1997 and 1998.

Zidane, who scored twice on his international debut in 1994, probably enjoyed his finest hour when scoring twice in the 1998 World Cup final win over Brazil.

He followed that up playing a pivotal role in France's successful Euro 2000 campaign before moving to Real Madrid in the summer of 2001.

Zidane then finally got his hands on the Champions League in 2002, scoring the winning goal in the final against Bayer Leverkusen with an exquisite volley.

The Marseille-born star can truly be described as world-class performer as there is no other player to match his skill and technique and his performances are a joy to behold.
