Totti - Roma in a good way

FRANCESCO TOTTI is satisfied with life at Roma and feels the club are ready to fight for honours in the new season.

The influential captain had been linked with a move away from the Italian capital but after a good pre-season campaign he is happy to remain with the Giallorossi.

"We can start the season in a good way," Totti told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"This year we have changed our preparations and we've played friendly matches to get ourselves in the right condition."

The Italian international is confident that Roma can improve after a disappointing campaign last time out and feels new signing Cristian Chivu can make a big difference.

"This time we are looking really strong.

"Chivu is a player of quality and is a very good arrival as well as being a fantastic guy," the player added.

Roma are facing an investigation into the use of false documents used in the payment of league fees but Totti is satisfied the situation will soon be resolved.

"The club in trouble? I'm relaxed and the fact that we haven't received telephone calls from the officers reassures me.

"If there were serious problems they would have told me something."
