Pulis wants Marshall to rule Britannia

STOKE CITY are lining up Ipswich Town's out-of-contract goalkeeper Andy Marshall to be their new custodian at the Britannia Stadium.

The former Norwich City shot-stopper was handed a free by Town at the end of last season as the club try to trim their wage bill, coupled with manager Joe Royle's admission that he had lost patience with his indifferent form.

Potteries boss Tony Pulis is seeking a new goalkeeper to bolster his squad's chances of making a real impact in Division One next term, as the club narrowly avoided the zone last time out with their fate being decided on the final day of the season.

Pulis is said to be keen to make the 28-year-old his new number one at Stoke and avoid a repeat of last season's struggles.
