Ronaldinho: Seaman was unlucky

RONALDINHO has admitted he had nothing but sympathy for David Seaman in the wake of England's exit to Brazil in the World Cup.

The Brazilian star scored a wonderful, flighted goal from a free-kick, which left Seaman widely criticised in the media.

However, Paris Saint Germain star Ronaldinho admits he was a little lucky with the strike and feels that criticism of the Arsenal man is unjustified.

"When I hit the ball I wanted to shoot for goal - but maybe not exactly where the ball ended up," said Ronaldinho.

"I had a shot at goal and I got a little lucky.

"Every time I switch on the television and see Seaman playing it reminds me of that moment. It's one I will remember for a long time.

"It was a tough way for England to go out of the World Cup - but I think we proved we were the best team.

"I was really sad when I saw Seaman crying after the game.

"I have always been a big admirer of his, and there was nothing he could do about that goal."

Ronaldinho also added his opinion on the Sir Alex Ferguson and David Beckham incident that has been covered worldwide.

The England captain received a cut over his eye when Ferguson inadvertently kicked a boot into his face - and Ronaldinho believes a simple apology was the least he could expect from his manager.

"What happened in the dressing room is an amazing story," added Ronaldinho. "Everybody I know has been talking about it.

"I have had arguments with managers before but I don't know what I would do in the kind of situation Beckham found himself in.

"You only know how to react when it happens to you, but I would expect an apology.

"When someone does something that's not good to someone else the least you can do is say sorry."
