The young Swede has preferred to wear 'Zlatan', but he will not revert to 'Ibrahimovic'.
"I wanted to have Ibrahimovic on the shirt at Ajax before the season started, but then it was too late to change," he said.
"I do it out of respect for my dad and my family, because Ibrahimovic is my family name."
The striker also commented on the fight he is having to register Zlatan as a trademark, five others have also applied.
"This is something my agent is handling, but I am not worried," he said.
"Would somebody else use the name Zlatan, people will understand that I am not standing behind it or whatever they do."
