Schalke interested in Shao
BUNDESLIGA outfit Schalke have hinted that they could be set for a move for Chinese international Shao Jiayi, according to reports in China.
Shao impressed during a trial with Schalke's rivals 1860 Munich and reports suggest that the Beijing Guoan midfielder could make a switch to the Bundesliga when the international transfer window re-opens in January.
Schalke club president Gerhard Rehberg made no secret of his admiration for Shao, and was quick to emphasise the potential of the Asian market.
"I know Shao is a very good player. He is very famous in China," he revealed.
"If Beijing offers him to us, we will not reject such an outstanding player.
"However, I am also interested in the Chinese market as a whole. They are many other good players besides Shao."
