Kezman continues PSV's perfect start

PSV EINDHOVEN moved joint top of the Dutch Eredivisie along with Ajax and RKC Waalwijk after a comfortable 4-0 win over AZ Alkmaar.

PSV, who have yet to concede a goal this season, maintained their perfect start to the season thanks to a brace of goals from Yugoslavian international striker Mateja Kezman.

Andre Ooijer fired the visitors ahead on 14 minutes, whilst Kezman scored on 36 minutes and again on the stroke of half time to give Eindhoven a commanding lead.

Waalwijk to their credit battled hard in the second half and kept the rampant home strike force at bay until late on when Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink completed the resounding victory.

Feyenoord maintained their unbeaten start to the new campaign after a 3-1 win over Excelsior in the Rotterdam derby at De Kuip.

The contest was virtually over after a quarter of an hour when former Nottingham Forest and Celtic striker Pierre Van Hooijdonk scored on 11 and 14 minutes, with the first coming from the penalty spot.

Excelsior bravely fought their way into the encounter when Brian Pinas pulled a goal back after 24 minutes, however second half goals from Sebastiano Pardo and veteran Mariano Bombarda completed the win.

Elsewhere, Utrecht wasted no time setting about De Graafschap when Dirk Kuyt scored for the home side from the penalty spot with only one minute having passed since kick-off.

Rusian Valeev missed a guilt edged chance to equalise from spot before, Igor Glusevic took full advantage moments later when he doubled the home side's lead on 20 minutes.

De Graafschap's hopes of sealing a point from the clash were all but extinguished when Stefaan Tanghe scored Utrecht's decisive third on 52 minutes.

To add insult to injury Kuyt scored his second and his side's fourth of the contest on 75 minutes to complete the rout.
