Denilson: Betis need to aim high

DENILSON has followed compatriot and new Real Betis team-mate Marcus Assuncao in insisting that the club should be looking to challenge for honours this season.

The mercurial Brazilian, who added a World Cup winners` medal to his collection this summer, has recovered from a minor surgical procedure and is raring to go.

He said: "We can't keep saying our objective is to stay in Primera Liga when we have a squad that is good enough to go far in the competition.

"We are in the top league so we must now look to getting as far as possible.

"I had an arthroscopy on my knee but I have already recovered.

"I have not had any problems and I am ready to take my place in the team and for the coach to have me in his plans."
