Dunfield goes on Midtjylland trial
The Vancouver-born Dunfield has trained with the England Under-17 squad, being initially eligible to play for The Three Lions through family ties.
However, he officially pledged his international future to his birth country last summer, when he played for Canada's Under-20 squad at the World Youth Championships in Argentina.
Dunfield joined The Citizens as a youth trainee and has been a regular in the Maine Road club's reserve squad ever since.
But with Kevin Keegan's side a point away from Premiership football next season and the 20-year-old's chances of moving into the first-team becoming remote, Dunfield has decided to try and earn himself a job in the Danish Superligaen.
Midtjylland boss Ove Pedersen to the club's official website: "We don't know the Canadian, but he will of course get the chance to prove his worth.
"If it then will lead to something more at FC Midtjylland or another club, time will tell.
"Of the 40-50 players who have been on trial at the club, we have only used one, Estonian Urmas Rooba. But I am hoping for the best with Dunfield."
