TOFFEES APPEAL WEIR DISMISSAL
The former Hearts defender was given a second yellow card for dragging his foot over Fulham striker Luis Boa Morte's head - an incident that led to a 20-man melee.
It seems very unlikely that the FA - who are investigating the proceeding incident, which led to Boa Morte controversially also get his marching orders - will give special dispensation to Weir as their policy is not to overturn yellow cards, but Everton have asked referee Phil Dowd to watch the match video anyway.
"We would like the match referee to take another look at the video evidence as we believe David Weir was hard done by and feel it would be rather harsh if he was to be suspended," Everton chief executive Michael Dunford said
Should The Toffees appeal be unsuccessful, Weir will miss his side's trip to Sunderland on 22nd December.
