TARRANT PARTS COMPANY WITH VILLA

NEIL TARRANT has parted company with Aston Villa after two-and-a-half years at Villa Park.

The 22-year-old striker arrived in the Midlands after a hugely successful spell with Scottish side Ross County, where he bagged 27 goals in just 41 starts.

His impressive strike rate led to scouts flocking to Victoria Park and it was Villa who coughed up £250,000 to take him to England.

However, Tarrant failed to make the breakthrough at Villa and leaves having failed to make a first team appearance.

The Darlington-born striker did have spells on-loan at York, Motherwell and Ross County and is free to find a new club with Villa not commanding a fee.
