WATFORD HOPE ISSA'S OK

WATFORD are hoping defender Pierre Issa has not suffered any further injury, following a freak accident which happened while he was being carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

The South African stopper was carried off after injuring a shoulder in a collision with Birmingham's Andrew Johnson, and he fell to the ground again when bearer's dropped the stretcher carrying him from the field.

"Pierre landed quite nastily on his shoulder," Watford's assistant manager Ray Wilkins explained. "But it certainly didn't help being dropped.

"It was quite a hefty landing but he seems to think he will be OK which is promising."

Issa became the third Hornets player to be carried off in as many games this season, while Micah Hyde was also forced to leave the field through injury.
