DUGARRY SUFFERS FROM FAN ABUSE
The French international has had problems with his club for sometime and was even dropped for the game against Monaco as a result of a run-un with Charles Camporo.
Dugarry was upset at the way the club had started the season and blamed the lack of ambition shown by the club not signing enough good players.
He has now returned to action, and form, but is being booed by crowds around the country who believe he is a troublemaker. Former Lens manager Rolland Courbis knows Dugarry well, and believes that it is getting to him because he is unhappy at Bordeaux.
"Booing can irritate you after a long period of time," said Courbis. "But it's not just that."
"If Christophe was happy by his team and the atmosphere at the club, he would not pay any attention to the boos - knowing him I even believe that it would motivate him a little more."
The treatment Dugarry is receiving is similar to that David Ginola received, and is linked to the French national side. Many believe that Dugarry should not be involved and only gets his place because he is a favourite of the coach.
"Some people, with little intellectual level, stupidly thought that Christophe was called into the French team because of favouritism, but of course that is not true," added Courbis.
"I know the truth because I had a lot of phone calls during World Cup with Aime Jacquet, and the selector loved him."
