TEESSIDE TRIAL FOR FRENCH STARLET
The left back (pictured) only signed for Sedan in January from French giants Monaco, but he is already looking to make a move after becoming unhappy at the small Ardennes club.
The 21-year-old, who can also play in midfield, is the latest in a long line of French targets that Boro manager Steve McClaren has looked at this summer - the others being Francois Grenet, Alain Boghossian, Habib Beye and Jerome Leroy.
Boro are in desperate need of a left back, after an injury to Dean Gordon saw Colin Cooper fill in for the opening three games of the season and the former England central defender has struggled to cope with his new role, although he did start his career there with Boro in the late 1980s.
Tommaso is at Boro's Rockcliffe Park training ground now and is hoping to do enough to earn a permanent move across the Channel.
On the Leroy situation, Marseille have said that they are still negotiating with Middlesbrough and some sort of deal could be done next week.
Meanwhile, Austrian trialist Markus Schopp has revealed that he is hopeful that he did enough to earn a permanent move to Middlesbrough.
The Sturn Graz ace had a four-day trial at Boro last week and he thinks that it went well.
"I think I left quite a good impression," said Schopp.
