HAALAND QUITS INTERNATIONAL STAGE
The former Nottingham Forest and Leeds United ace was hoping to win a recall to the Norway team having not played for the national side since June 1999 in a European Championship qualifier against Albania, but he was again overlooked for a squad, which was named earlier this week.
The 28-year-old has admitted that he is disappointed about not being involved with Norway after impressing with City this season and he has decided to call an end to his international career.
"The Norway squad was announced this week and I wasn't included in it," Haaland told his official website. "I must say that if I can't make it to the national side now, I don't know when I'll ever make it.
" I'm playing every week, and when I spoke with the coaches earlier in the season they said that I was playing well and that I was under consideration for the next game.
" So I think that's it as far as my international career is concerned. From now on, I'll just concentrate on City," added Haaland.
