POLAK SIGNS FOR TWENTE
FC TWENTE have beaten off interest from Groningen, AZ Alkmaar and RKC Waalwijk to complete the signing of Feyenoord full back Sjaak Polak.
The 24-year-old left sided defender has been on loan at Feyenoord`s feeder club Excelsior for the last five seasons, but his contract at De Kuip is due to expire in the summer and he made it clear he wanted to leave.
A fee of £400,000 was agreed by Twente on Thursday and Twente coach Fred Rutten agreed terms with the player who signed a three year deal at the Arke Stadium.
Excelsior will be disappointed to have losed Polak who was a firm crowd favourite and made a name for himself with his trade-mark free kicks.
