FISH MOVE RESURRECTED?

MARK FISH could be set to join Charlton within the next week, after seeing a move to The Valley fall through earlier in the year.

The cultured South African defender had agreed to sign a new contract at The Reebok Stadium, but it remains un-signed and it now looks as though he will be sealing a switch to The Premiership.

Alan Curbishley`s side have performed well this season but the Athletic boss is still conscious of the need for strength in depth as the winter period approaches.

Former Lazio ace Fish has a wealth of experience and is the sort of player who would be invaluable when the chips are down.

Any sale of the 26-year-old would enable Sam Allardyce to pursue his own interest in Coventry`s unsettled centre back Colin Hendry.

The Scotland captain is desperate for first team football and may be persuaded to take a step down a division in order to join the promotion hopefuls.
