GERRARD FIGHTING TO BE FIT
The England international has been struggling with back and groin problems over the summer but Wolfhart remained positive of the player being back to play in Liverpool's first match of the season.
"He is doing light training and hopefully he will be all right for the start of the season, but we don't know," explained Wolfhart. "It is still a worry for us."
Anfield boss Gerrard Houllier will be hoping that Gerrard can regain match fitness in time for the start of the new season, as he has already been hit by the news that midfielder Jamie Redknapp faces another five months on the sidelines through injury.
