BADIR TIPPED FOR ISRAELI RETURN

WIMBLEDON midfielder Walid Badir could be heading back to his native Israel, with Maccabi Haifa interested in obtaining his services.

The combative performer was not a regular at Selhurst Park last season, although he did have a part to play in their campaign - starting 12 matches and coming off the bench nine times.

Following Terry Burton`s appointment as manager during the close season, several changes are expected to be made to the playing staff, with Badir possibly heading for the exit door.

Maccabi are on the trail of Badir again, after they failed in a bid to sign him before he opted for a move to England.

There is little chance that The Dons will be able to recoup anything like the £800,000 that they paid Hapoel Petah last summer.
