BROWN ON THE LIST
Following a meeting between midfielder Brown and manager Joe Royle, the midfielder was placed on the transfer list.
The 22-year old, who came through the apprencticeship scheme at Maine Road, has been unhappy about not being a regular member of the first team squad.
Brown has played for the England U21 side but started last season out in the cold.
He made his first appearance in the starting line up in the 1-0 defeat by Preston in early October 1998 and found himself back in the reserves.
The FA Cup replay against Darlington saw his fortunes change when he scored an outstanding individual goal, seeing him go on to make over thirty appearances last season, culminating in him signing a new three year contract.
The combative midfielder made his City debut against QPR in August 1995 but it was marred by a controversial sending off after only minutes of him coming on as substitute.
He met with the manager yesterday to explain his anxiety at not getting first team football, having made only one appearance this season in the Worthington Cup tie at Burnley.
