Midfielder signs three-year deal with Bundesliga club

Augsburg have signed Germany Under 21 international Kevin Vogt in a deal worth €685,500 (£550,000). The midfielder has agreed a three-year deal with the Bundesliga club after leaving second-tier Bochum. Vogt suffered an injury-hit 2011/12 campaign and made just 16 league appearances to mean he is looking towards the future. The 20-year-old told his new club's official website: "I am happy to join Augsburg and determined to take on the challenge of playing top-division football."

Delight

Augsburg manager Markus Weinzierl is pleased with the signing and has no doubts about Vogt's potential to blend in at the club. Weinzierl said: "I am delighted Kevin Vogt joins our club. "Kevin is a young player for midfield with skills that will also fit into our squad due to his personality." The signing of Vogt follows last week's news of Augsburg's new loan agreement with Wolfsburg regarding Ja-Cheol Koo. The South Korea midfielder spent the second half of 2011/12 with Augsburg and will now stay for the duration of next season.
